Dear Gilt, I hate you.

A few months I posted about these sandals.  They were my lifeline for a perfect future.  The stars aligned when I was browsing Gilt's DVF sale.  All the shoes were pretty bland, until I spotted THE BLUE FEATHERED sandals at the bottom of the page.  FOR FIFTY PERCENT OFF!  Looks like this was more of a shooting star day (haha).  Alas, they were sold out of my size and almost sold out completely.  More like a moon-less night.  But then I kept refreshing the page, probably about fifty times.................SIZE 8 available!  I added them to my bag and entered in my credit card in about 0.234 seconds.  Once in a freaking blue moon.



Thennnnnnnnnn a few weeks go by and I constantly check my email for the tracking number of my blue-feathered babies.  I finally get notification of shipment, but no tracking number.  Odd...how long can a blue moon last?  The next week, I receive an email that my sandals of peacock goddess status can not be shipped. EVER. No explanation.  METEOR SHOWER, my world is now RAVAGED.  Summer ruined. Life over on Sailing Equestrian Planet by big freaking Gilt meteors. Oh, but I got a $25 Gilt credit.

A tribute: the story of three pairs of rain boots.

This story begins sometime ago on a Georgetown shopping trip.   Equestrian Sailor and I enter J. Crew and began to browse, when all of the sudden Equestrian Sailor discovers the most amazing rain boots ever!! Pink flamingos!!  To make it even better, the boots were on sale!!  Then, we discovered more rain boots...the day could not get any better.  Eventually, Equestrian Sailor pulls out green rain boots with whales in size 10!  It was simply meant to be, I was in love.  To sum things up, I ended up with the green rain boots and Equestrian Sailor ended up with not one but two pairs of J. Crew rain boots.  It was fabulous to say the least.  Too bad we never found what we were actually looking for (dresses).  Sadly, that meant more return visits to BCBG(!) and DSW(!!).  And sadly, that meant I bought my first pair of leather sole heels(!!!).

Two years later.  No more rain boots.  Equestrian Sailor's two pairs of rain boots both died a few months ago.  I was hoping mine would hold out and that maybe both her pairs were just flukes.  Today, mine also broke.  Tragic day, a great story had to come to an end and I will forever miss puddle splashing in my green whales.

Just in time for the blizzard

My new boots!! My friend, W has these in black with a blue zipper and loves them, I was envious for sometime now. I decided to get the lighter ones; I think for Steve Madden they really look nice, classic tan boot then you look at the back and there is the red awesome zipper! They finally arrived, I am so excited!! I love the red zipper, I have not seen anyone with these boots and they will stand out in the blur of brown tall boots. Can't wait to wear them tomorrow, just in time for all the snow Cornell is getting tonight!

Cornell did get a ton of snow, but these boots are a huge disappointment. Mr. Madden did not pull through for me, all my fears came true about ordering a pair of Steve Maddens. The picture is not a good representation of what the boots like look in person. The leather is soo bad, but I mean what can you expect for Steve Madden, at the same time they were almost $200 boots so I would expect better quality of the designer/manufacturer. I am going to see how they hold up in the snow, they will probably become my "going to class boots" save my fryes for when it really matters. I learned my lesson, never doubt your initial thought/ feeling when you decide to make a purchase and do not convince yourself otherwise and make an impulse purchase.
