Give it up...

We have blogged a lot about rainboots, but this is the end.  Hunter Boots will not give up.  They need to stop their shenanigans and stick to classic functional rainboots.  Hunter rainboots have become so popular because they were originally a farm work-boot. Hunter hit the price point, the colors and insulators/socks - someone did their homework well.  Where they are heading now...well who knows!  The sudden change in design direction shows a lack of market research because they are missing their target market. Then again, Hunter may be trying to jump into new markets because women don't buy new rainboots every year. And now that every college girl has them, they need to start exploring every fugly option available. Personally, I think Hunter need to focus on their core market by finding a designs that makes every college girl think she needs multiple pairs of rainboots.

I am not sure what I will do if after Christmas I see girls wearing these types of rainboots. Seriously, they need to stop, it's a disservice for their company...and humanity.

Forget the Hunter Wellies, keep your feet dry in some Trentorns.











They range in price from $50-$80. Way more reasonable than Hunters.

Forget the J.Crew disappointments(see J.Crew rainboot post) and Hunter prices.. Trentorns are the next big rainboot for sure.

If you are still Hunter obsessed, here is my tip.. buy the Trentorns then order some of the fancy over-priced Hunter liners, wear them inside the Trentorns, fold over the socks so EVERYONE see the label and then rock the Hunter look with the Trentorns. When Spring arrives when no one is wearing Hunters, you can take the fugly liners out and rock the hawt Trentorn look! Plus, you can buy the Trentorns for the price of just the Hunter liners. Hunter Update

Yesterday, it was rainy so naturally I walked around with my eyes glued to the ground...so many cute rainboots and so many different colored Hunter's!  I saw a girl rocking a pair of adorable kids' rainboots that had the pull-on handles and eyes popping out of the front (I wish I had smaller feet, oh not so Asian).

I love my new yellow Hunter's, especially after waiting to get the correct size (FYI they run about a size big).  Today, I saw multiple pairs of the silver ones.  Good call, happy sport: they're not as likable in person.  Saw the glossy violet ones that I had been lusting after, and the color is more than lust-worthy.  I understand why they are sold out everywhere.  Where did that girl find her pair?!

Also saw light blue ones, which surprised me, are extremely cute.  If you want color, but don't want something so loud, check the light blue out.
