Oxford Comma: Shoe Edition

NY trend just hitting Williamsburg: OXFORDS!

Love them paired with straight-leg jeans or dresses and skirts.  They're playful without being garrishly girly.  I've actually been on the lookout for a pair of comfy, not-too-cute Oxfords for years.  I'm sad to say I couldn't fully commit to putting a pair of menswear inspired shoes on my feet until half of the women in NYC were doing the same. LAME. But now that I've committed, so many options:

To lace or to not lace? Haven't come up with a conclusive answer. BUT the mix of suede and leather is interesting (good interesting) and wingtip detailing is rarely a bad thing.

Now that's something Vampire Weekend would readily endorse.

Sequin Struck

When I think about going back to school...I get slightly depressed and then think of something happy, say the parties next semester...and then I think of an even better substitute: summer.

But while I'm thinking about glamming it up for campus, I've been sequin-struck lately.  Maybe it's those bright, summery-colored, sequin dresses now on clearance at FCUK?  Happy Sport complained about the sequins not lying correctly and insisted on flipping them so they were all oriented in the correct direction...but look at these Miu Miu sequined platform pumps!  The sequins can never be going in the wrong direction, just the silver or gold direction...reversible sequins!  Brilliant, or should I say dazzling?!  At Neiman Marcus for 750.  My one complaint is the platform, kind of tacky-looking in my book.

Pucci Medallion

So shoe medallions can be a bit tacky, especially when it feels like are knock offs of Tory Burch!  But what about these Pucci slingbacks?  They've been on sale at shoes.com for awhile.  I really like the black patent and the turquoise color combo.  But I might be biased by my Pucci infatuation.

Laser Cut Purple

Right now Gilt has a sale on these Casadei pumps. I love the purple, I think they would look great with a simple black dress. The "laser cut" is such a neat texture. Regular price $725.00; Gilt price $229. I want these so bad!

A bit too mousey?

I used to have a pair of black felt flats from Urbn with some type of animal face on the front of the shoe.  I loved that pair of flats...maybe it was being in 7th grade, or maybe it was just my Asian-ness out in full force.  If I had $300 to burn, I might splurge on this similar pair of Marc flats.  The red color is very rich...and Asian appropriate too, as red is believed to be lucky in Chinese culture.

I love when someone's outfit has a small, quirky detail that truly makes it her own look.

TOMS...Cape Cod styling

I've always wanted a pair of TOMS, but never got around to buying a pair.  My favorite design, which I bought for Happy Sport and a few friends, is still the party animals (a donkey for the left foot and elephant for the right :)

Love the preppy, summery Red Newport Cordones.  I can imagine pairing these babies with rolled up white jeans, jean mini's and shorts.  The contrast of the diagonal stripes with the horizontal stripes is fly.

Of course, there are the original canvas TOMS and they've introduced linen TOMS for this summer, which would also pair well with anything.  I feel like they used to offer more styles though.

But who needs variety, when there's anchor embossed shoes?

The men's anchor TOMS win in my book!  Too bad they're sold out in all the small sizes.  What I also won't be buying: Vegan Wrap Boot...
